Our Programs

Plant a Row - Grow a Row

What is It?

Plant a Row, Grow a Row is an initiative to encourage gardeners to grow an extra row of their favourite veggies and donate the harvest to the Bayfield Area Food Bank.

Why 'Grow a Row'?

The Bayfield Area Food Bank helps over 150 clients a month. There is always a need to increase the amount of fresh produce that is handed out, and this campaign puts fresh, local food into the hands of people who need it the most.

How Do I Prepare and Donate my Harvested Vegetables?

Harvest your veggies, wash off the soil, trim the excess leaves, and deliver directly to the Bayfield Area Food Bank.

Give us a call and we’ll be sure to have someone meet you at the Food Bank.

Please do not leave donations outside when we are closed.

When bringing your donations inside, please let the volunteer or staff know you are dropping off for "Plant a Row, Grow a Row" so that we can keep track of the program's success.

How Do I Encourage Others to Donate?

Spread the word! Let others know about the project and post photos via the BAFB and your own Facebook page and we’ll re-share your post.
